Lame: 320 kbps, 16 bits @ 44 kHz, 10.4 MB

WMP: 320 kbps, 16 bits @ 44 kHz, 10.4 MB

WAV: supplemental purposes, 46.2 MB

As you can see here, the lame encoded MP3 file has much more spatial definition and accuracy, compared to the wmp encoded MP3. Of course wav has a much more detail here, mostly above your hearing threshold; the rest is almost identical. I wish Microsoft uses lame encoder.
Lame is an excellent encoder, you can download the encoder itself at lame.sourceforge.net, or MediaMonkey at mediamonkey.com
