photoshop elements grief

hi all, new here. Im experiencing problems with Photo' Elem' 6. when i open P.E 6 and choose a picture to work with,i find i often cant choose a tool. it seems to default to the hand tool. this seems to be a random problem. other times i'll open it and it works just fine.unreliable to say the least. any ideas? Ta.

Ah, that makes sense, I was a bit busy at the time so I thought someone answering would be faster than a google. That and I hate Photoshop Elements.

Yeah, I learned that 'trick' a while back. It was kind of weird, but it doesn't actually happen out of random.

Np B) Yeah, Photoshop CS4 FTW. Rather expensive though, haha.

Edit: That last phrase makes me seem like I pirate it :P In fact, I haven't pirated it; but neither do I have the real deal, due to its prohibitive cost. B)
