I don't think anyone is surprised this was released, and if you are, "Have you been living under a rock this whole time?" That is actually quite a significant upgrade from the 3GS. Too bad Micro SIM isn't so widespread yet. No front page news on this? :S

Posted, didn't think it was more important than the latest news but sure... Guess it is because the whole thing was leaked about 2 months ago...

Speaking of the network, early during the demo, Steve Jobs was having troubles getting his iPhone 4 to connect to the Wi-Fi network. When he switched to 3G, he was bombarded with even more network errors while trying to pull up the New York Times website. When he deferred to one of his crew on how to correct the problems, an audience member yelled out “Try Verizon!” Ouch!

This is actually quite a significant upgrade with Wireless N, 720p, LED flash, 5mp camera, video call, new processor. Beats the disappointing 3GS.

Can't say I'm impressed, they are finally on par with some of the better phones on the market. Now with 1.2Ghz. Snapdragon rolling along, heres to Apple having outdated tech very soon.

Meh, you're anti-iPhone anyway :S This is a fine product IMO, and the experience lays in the OS, not only the hardware.

That's definitely true, chc. I read a HTC Desire vs. iPhone 3GS review where the guy came to this conclusion: if you're the developer/hacky/tweaking around type, then Android (and therefore something like the Desire) is for you. But if you want seamless vertical integration, then the iPhone is the best device for the job.

I also read another review of the Desire before that (sorry, I don't have the link). That reviewer made the point that the Desire is the best choice if you're looking for sheer features and functionality (camera, connectivity, etc), but again, the iPhone is supreme for multimedia and sheer user-friendliness.

Here's an infographic of iPhone 3GS vs. iPhone 4 features.

Aaand here's another infographic for your viewing pleasure haha, this time the a comparo of the specs of the iPhone 4 vs. some other Android phones. Dang the HTC Evo is looking good. :S 4.3" screen FTW (not to mention the 8MP camera)!

Good info man. Looks like iPhone definitely has a bit of an edge, haha. Unlike previous iterations playing catchup.

Read through some of this stuff, I liked most of the ones you posted... iPhone 4 will be outdated before you know it, don't worry. All in the OS, not really so much the hardware for Apple.

List the things that you think will be "outdated before we know it" compared to any other recent releases. :S

It looks like a pretty powerful phone with up to date hardware to be. 720p video is quite a feat for a phone - we'll see about the quality.

The 3GS had (relatively) decent video quality.

Personally I would buy one if I didn't already have an iPhone. Mine can go for another 2 years or so :S

I guess what he means is outdated in the sense that it doesn't have a 1GHz Snapdragon in it thus being "behind" technologically.

Not really, I am quite sure the iPhone 4 uses the A4 which is also at 1GHz. in the iPad. It is most likely downclocked though for battery life issues.
