The desktop version has a USB hub, so that may come in handy. (Y)

Love the unguarded fans though haha.

Well I can safely say I have used the USB hub. The fans do hurt if you stick your fingers in them. (of course right?) The fan material is a hard plastic to say the least.

Is the hub self powered or USB powered?

The hub is also USB powered, so that's most likely why the max rpm of the fan is 1700 on the pro compared to 2000 on the regular one.
