default mail client

hi guys. can anybody guide me thru setting up my default mail client. when i try to contact sites when surfing i get an error msg telling me my mail client isnt properly set up.i dont know much about this sort of thing. thx if u can help:)

What version of Windows and mail client are you using?

If you dont have Outlook download Windows live mail and just set it up it would pretty much default to that. If not just set it in Set Program Defaults in Vista/7.
