To be a honest gaming fanatic, I'd stick to console gaming. I perceive phone gaming as a mere entertainment at times when you get bored at work or whatnot. After all, I am a PlayStation gamer Posted Image

Real gamers, game on the PC. The PC is vastly superior in interface, controls and customization. Gaming companies need to stop crapping their games on consoles and make some PC games that are then ported to the consoles. Anything else makes using a mouse and keyboard tacked on for PC gaming.

I think we were discussing mobile platform earlier, so let's just split this topic out.

The common debate for console games is the optimization of software for hardware. You pay a lower price of entry and a wide array of guaranteed compatible games. When's the last time you can pay $300 for a computer that can let you play all modern games at 1080p? You can get a decent video card at most. Of course, the computer provides fundamentally more flexibility in control, and as far as games like FPS are concerned, it is made for the keyboard and mouse. I can barely play with a controller.

That is what I mean, hardcore FPS gamers should be playing on PC, not on a controller. Because these people conform to the "console" fad of FPS and even some RTS gaming, the PC gamers are getting screwed over. Why would we ever want to use some locally hosted server via. a matchmaking service when we can get a superior lag free dedicated server up? Not to mention the tendency of map packs/DLCs that cost quite a bit for something we used to get for free. Come on, that is such a joke, at least Valve still gets it. Take a look at the L4D and L4D2 DLCs, they are free on the PC, while on the Xbox360, it's near $12 for just one more campaign mission and a small addition to the story.

Good points everyone.

I'm torn between the two - PC for max flexibility and better controls but console is cheaper for the hardware with more expensive games, but you don't ned to deal with problems associated with computer - console just plug it in to your TV and it works. PC is a headache if you don't know what youre doing. I support FPS and Strategy games on PC. Try playing Starcraft or even of school AOE with a controller

Oh, I never said I never like PC gaming. It's just that ancient people like me have started out with the epic original PlayStation console ever since their first days. Having that said, I also enjoy many games on PC as well. I've had good and bad experiences with both platforms, so I can understand your viewpoint, Kenneth.

Well it comes to the difference is for people Traveling a lot that Consoles cannot address. You can play on your XBOX PS3 at home or Computer at home but Portable Console on the go does not deliver much experience. This is what I call semi-portable gaming where you can bring a Laptop and play all the PC games you play at Home. Computer games are better flexible.

True enough. You'll almost always need to reply on a TV for console gaming. But I don't think many people actually has a "gaming" laptop practical enough to be carried around anyway.
