Just got a set in to mount on a set of steelies for the Odyssey. Finally got some my hands on some real winter tires, and possibly the best money can buy for the type. :D

They're just for winter use, and for $60, who cares :P Car is going to be ugly during the winter season anyway.

We never use the side door, so if anyone opens it, it's probably someone breaking in. They will have a nasty surprise on their foot with a couple solid steel rims falling on them :D

Bought them from Tire Rack. $630 tax and shipping in... cheaper than Costco ($800). The steelies are from Walmart for $60 each, lol (They're all the same thing pretty much. Just choose the cheapest one). I just gave them a test drive yesterday night, they're surprisingly not as soft as I thought it would be.

Really how's the handling with mushy rubber?

It's good enough. As aforementioned, they're not as soft as I thought, even if it's around 7 degrees Celsius (Recommended temp to change over to winter tires). Performance winter tires (Ie, the ones that are for handling and less snow performance) are too much of a compromise especially for a minivan, so these Blizzaks would do the job. Can't wait until it starts snowing to see how it works! :D

Also, they're really quiet.

I have to say the steel rims are horrendous... Oh well all that matters are the tires and no van is going to win the best looking car contest.

I used to think steelies are horrendous... and rightfully still are, but when you pay the money, and it's the winter, they're all the same thing. Your car is going to be muddy and dirty for most of the season anyway. When you're inside, no one's going to be looking. You'll just be looking at other people's ugly steel rims :P (Eww)

Still love my ExtremeContact DWS on my Civic with regular alloys :P

They just put nitrogen in there when they filled it up, honestly I would not pay for another refill. Air does the job just fine, and nitrogen is way overrated.

:P True - but still ugly. In all my years of driving I never used nitrogen - who in the right mind PAYS to fill air into your tires? Air is 70% nitrogen.

I wouldn't... just put regular air in it. All the BS about regular air eating through rubber, I don't see that as a problem at all. Your tires should be replaced after 5-6 hours regardless of wear level anyway.
