As recently announced... here's the gist of it:

- Vanity URL is your address. Ie., facebook.com/name will have your email name@facebook.com.
- Connection with Outlook Web Apps and Windows Live SkyDrive.
- Instant inbox alerts from your friends, conversation view with a chat-like service.

Sounds like an interesting idea, but I really don't see how it is really a revolution in email as some may make it sound like. I certainly won't be using it to replace my Gmail account at the moment :P

Your friends have a priority inbox, whereas people who are not on your friends list will end up in regular inbox. It is more like an extension of Facebook's current PM system in my opinion.

Conversation view with chat like service for instant notifications looks nice - but why reinvent the wheel?
