Well, looks like they've changed since you've last been with them. Good to hear (Y)

:P I'm not sure if a different phone service makes it more clear.

To be fair to Charter, when I had them last (2002 or so) they were in the process of assimilating our local cable co (Smyrna Cable) and starting to require STB's for TV service. The crappy TV service was the only issue I had with them. Even after pulling new RG6 lines from the pole all the way to the TV's, still had the same issue.

 not sure either, it's certainly no worse than the old POTS line and being all digital has to be somewhat better.

AT&T free and loving it!! (Y)

I'm sure the modem just converts the analog to digital signal and back a few times.

Welcome to American corporations... where local businesses are all out :P

What's wrong with having a set top box though? I can't recall when I HAVEN'T had one, but having a PVR is awesome. It's not required for Shaw here in Canada, but for some special subscription channels you'll have to get one. Otherwise you can just use a regular tuner.

Actually I do have STB's now, just from DirecTV. Yep, the DVR/PVR's are nice, don't know how I managed before. :P

I think it's a 120Gb, but not really sure. I've never come close to filling it up though. I think the most space I used was maybe 25%.

You must not be using HD - it's GB not Gb btw.
