What do you guys used to keep your PCs in sync? I looked at Windows Live Mesh but I don't want anything "in the cloud", just LAN. Want something simple and stable. Anyone got good suggestions?

I use Microsoft Synctoy and just sync with a folder on my NAS, and then have all the other computers sync with the same folder on my NAS. Does wonders.

Hey don't be hating Windows Live Mesh, you get to pick and choose what files you want on the cloud (I keep none on the cloud). I use it for file synchronization between my laptop and desktop, but that is only because I usually am only using my laptop remotely so I need something to keep my files in sync when I'm not at home. I have to say it works quite well, but very slow and painful to get it all synced up at the start. I do have to agree with chc for just LAN, but of course it all depends on your needs.

I also use Synctoy. Small, simple and effective.

Yes thanks - Synctoy seems to the the job well if you have a nas.

Just an update, SyncToy died on me a couple days ago for no apparent reason. It works on my desktop, but it messed up on my laptop. Firstly, it started randomly deleting files. Then it started taking 30 seconds to scan each folder. Nothing I can do fixes it, so I uninstalled SyncToy and installed PureSync. It's so much more flexible... so much better config, and it's faster plus it's free. I'd give it a shot :)

FreeFileSync is also pretty Decent. I guess PureSync is better though.
