We negotiated a free new cable box on the renewal of our contract, so I got it installed in my room. This HD box is actually quite compact compared to the Motorola PVR we have downstairs :P Since I don't really care about video recording, and I don't have a VIVO card (Darn you AMD and your newest Radeons), I plugged it directly into my Dell 2408WFP and my Logitech G51 speakers, which has auxiliary RCA inputs.

Initially the Shaw guy didn't set it up correctly for HD output, but I fixed it right after he left. I tossed out my old TV tuner; this thing is so much better

That's really nice chc - always jealous of your setup lol.

That's a very clean setup of a Set Top Box. What model is that? I've never seen one before.

I think it's a newer model, the Motorola DCX3200. It runs pretty warm, but I haven't used it long enough for it to overheat, haha. It's a pretty smooth unit and it runs really well. I also like the way this is set up because I can turn off my computer and still be able to have TV available.

That makes me want to grab one to put in my room as well. Wish I had some more space and an HDMI compatible monitor and some better speakers.

:S That way you'll need super expensive monitors like the chc.

There is also information about a new cable box. The new box supports three tuners and allows you to record more shows than you can with traditional boxes. The box will work with existing hd home run units and even lets users add more as they please later down the road.
