Western Canada finally has some decent internet. Man am I glad that this is finally came along. 50Mbps/3Mbps doesn't look too bad.

Here are the links:

http://shaw.ca/Internet/newpackages/

Essentially Shaw High Speed is $74.90 with TV... but we subscribe to Fairchild etc so that's an extra $20/month or something. With the new package that's $84.90 with TV, but Fairchild is $10/month. Looks like we're on a free upgrade for faster internet. That's freaking insane though, now Canada has real interwebs!

Those are some great internet plans with combo - how consistent is Shaw performance? Upload is still a bit slow compared to Fios.

Shaw is very reliable in my opinion. The performance is usually at or over the specified speed :P

I can't wait to get 5mbps (3mbps for now) upload at home. I've had it enough with slow upload speeds :realmad:

I ordered it already, however the Canada Post lockout means I will have to wait quite a bit longer for my modem to arrive :(

Yes you are, also it seems like they used Purolator which should be unaffected by the strike. I have a pick up notice at the front door.

What modem is it, can't you just disable it and use it with your WRT610N?

I have no idea yet, hopefully I will be able to pick it up on Monday and take some picture. There have been reports of different types of modems going out.

It can... if you're operating on the same channel.
