Nice - my son told me it came out last week (at least here in NA). Final Fantasy XIII was **** though, what do you think of this?

FFXIII is actually a part of a series in itself, specifically, the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy Series. Personally speaking, I thought FFXIII had a pretty darn good storyline along with great graphics, battle system, and the such. However, the gameplay itself was rather straightforward and bland. Having said that, I expected it as such, because it's the introduction to its specific series, and I was more concerned about everything else than the gameplay itself.

With that out of the way, FFXIII-2 gives you a more opened "feel", if you will, just like FFVII with its wide-opened world map. The map is not as linear when you play through it, which is unlike what Square Enix had implemented in FFXIII. As well, there were a few modifications/additions in its battle system, which I liked. It kept its originality of a new-aged Square Enix RPG battle system while incorporating something new to learn, which gives players (that have played FF games before) something more challenging and new to play with without overwhelming new players that are less familiar with this system.
