Looks like its finally time for me to upgrade my PC! It'll also be nice to finally be able to install SP1 for Windows 7, too. :whatever:

Spec's for now, pictures will come as more parts arrive.
  • Case: Lian-Li PC-V2120
  • Motherboard: ASUS P9X79 WS
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-3930K
  • CPU Cooler: Corsair H80
  • Memory: 32GB of Corsair Vengeance (8x4GB)
  • Graphics: EVGA GTX 680
  • Power Supply: Seasonic Platinum Series 860W
  • Add-In: Adaptec 6805 RAID Card
  • Hard drives: 8x1TB Western Digital Black (WD1002FAEX; thinking RAID-10)

I'm keeping my existing monitors (for now), as well as my DVD drives and media card reader. I will also be stocking up on varying sizes of Noctua PWM fans.

Comments on my insanity are welcome, haha! B)

Anything I want to! :P It's really good for video/audio/image editing, as well as my programming. Plus, I can finally give Minecraft the memory that it needs.

No need to, yet. My current system doesn't peak past 500W under normal stress.

No, but PSUs are most efficient under 50% load. Also, loading it past that will make the fan spin real fast :P

I'm lazy, so I don't have a bunch of glamor shots [yet], lol.
Also, please don't laugh at the crappy LCD attached to the Ergotron arm. :P

Look, ok... It's all I've got. Unless someone wants to donate a reasonable VESA-mountable 17", I'll continue to use it. :P I can't yet afford another 24" IPS monitor.

Or, you can just connect your new PC to your hardcore monitor setup. Unless this is just your testing station :P

Sure... they're all over the place. :hehe: I just need to get one for myself.

Also, the new system is booted, gets a 7.2 WEI score, with the HDD being the limiting factor. Compare that to the 6.3 of my current system. :)

Also, it's been a while since I've seen a SuperPI result around here.. but it gets 1M in approximately 10 seconds with SpeedStep on, and no OC. :D
