Hey Gents,
I was actually looking at this board not to long ago for a lowpower/noise Gaming HTPC build. Here is my post on it if your interest in the parts list I put together. http://forums.anandt...d.php?t=2299775
These E trinity chips, expecially the one with 7660g would be a great start to some extremely compact system. I found a number for the APU's for sale on Ebay if you looking for them on the cheap.

Hey Shc-Boomer,
I ended up shelving the project when I gutted my wifes computer and built an HTPC out of those parts. It is not nearly as cool or quiet as the above would be but much cheaper. Those socket FS1R2 boards are scarce and very expensive from UK retailers that I have been able to find. If you find the board cheap somewhere post it here but most sites list it for over 300 USD.

I see, it's good to see people were looking into products like this. Tbh I was looking forward to taking a look at this board, but the lack of a way to get a processor is kind of a pain. I'm sure this would be easier if there were more boards and retail processors for this series considering how it seems like a great fit for the HTPC market.

Yeah they are, thus it is mostly for embedded systems and applications similar to POS or game systems.

Welcome to APH - well I don't see the big appeal for MITX for HTPC. The chc has a much powerful machine out of old parts for this HTPC and I'm planning to do the same, if you have enough room in your house its probably ok.

Yep just for reference here is the thread: http://aphnetworks.c...er-pc-timeless/
I used to run a mini-ITX PC, but I've grown out of it. I'm back to full sized desktops for everything now ![]()

If you have the space to set up a full build why not? No need to comprimise on performance if power and space isn't an issue.

Maybe it will show up randomly one day, you never know.
