They did in their consumer lineup. They gave up the externally accessible trays though :(

It seems ASUSTOR NAS are better than QNAP nowadays on average score right? Time to switch!

It seems like it. You can't go wrong with both. It's hard to switch brands if you're used to one though.

Why did they Switch to the External Power brick? It also looks like the Hardware is comparable to the AS3202T with Apollo Lake instead of the previous Generation SOC's. Just a different Chassis and 2 extra bays. Good review nonetheless.

External power brick is a little more efficient. Chassis is a big deal :P Processing power is just fine.

:) Just buy all new HDD's and do some remote replication.
