It allows you to use the port as an Ethernet backhaul or just connect wired devices to it.

I wouldn't exactly call the performance bad. These are AC2200 access points. It's just shoving 6 antennas in a package like this won't get you very far. The other routers had much better antennas. Function over form, yo.

Mmm yeah I had some hope for these. I guess consumer mesh solutions have a bit more work to go.

There's only so much you can do with something of this size. If we use a wired backhaul with a real AP design (Like the WRT3200ACM) we might have some epic performance. It's just hard to place it anywhere :lol:

For that you can just buy 2 WRT3200ACM's and just use the same SSID and "mesh" it manually. Or use DD-WRT.

Disappointed in the Performance as well.

DD-WRT has a Wireless Extender function too.

Last I checked, DD-WRT does not work that well on the WRT3200ACM. It could have gotten better though.

buy 1 Linksys own ea9300 and probably have better performance
