LG’s New Wearable Band Allows You to Track, Listen in on Your Kids

From DailyTech: LG just launched its G Watch smartwatch that runs Google’s new Android Wear operating system. The G Watch is of course aimed at adults, but the company’s newest wearable is squarely targeted at the “youth” market.

The new LG KizON not only allows parents to track their children in real-time via GPS, but it also allows for two-way communications (the device supports 2G/3G and Wi-Fi standards) between parent and child via a feature called One Step Direct Call. Using the One Step Direct Call button, the child can contact one pre-configured cell phone number.

Where things take a step towards creepy, however, is enabled if a parent tries to contact their child, and the child doesn’t pickup within 10 seconds. In that case, the KizON will automatically allow the parent to listen in on the child’s surroundings via the built-in microphone.
