ASUS' ZenWatch to Arrive Wednesday, Feature Sub-$200 MSRP

From DailyTech: When the Android Wear operating system was first unveiled in March, the clear [hardware] star of the show was the Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch with its classic, round face. Since that time, some rather forgettable designs have hit the market in the form of the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live.

While the Moto 360 has still yet to officially launch, a few newcomers are looking to take the spotlight away when it comes to good-looking smartwatches. LG has already shown off its new G Watch R, which also implements a round display, while Samsung is preparing the Gear S, which features a futuristic design and the homegrown Tizen mobile operating system.

ASUS doesn’t want to be left out of the game and is once again teasing its upcoming Android Wear smartwatch, only this time it actually has a name. The ZenWatch will be priced at less than $199 when it arrives on U.S shores next month according to Focus Taiwan. ASUS claims that the design of the watch has been “well received” by folks at Google, and that the new watch will look better than its pricier competitors.

The ZenWatch will be unveiled this Wednesday at the IFA tech conference held in Berlin, Germany.
