Slimmer, higher-res Kindle Voyage e-reader leaked by Amazon

From PC World: This may be the age of the smartphone and tablet, but Amazon has an e-reader user base voracious enough to merit yearly refreshes of devices like the Kindle Paperwhite. With the second generation Paperwhite about to hit its first birthday, it appears Amazon is preparing to release the 2014 edition of the glow-in-the-dark e-reader.

Earlier on Wednesday, Amazon's German and Japanese stores briefly put up information about a new version of the Paperwhite, dubbed the Kindle Voyage.

The sites appeared to be offering placeholder information, according to Cachys Blog, a German-language site that first discovered slip-up on Amazon Germany, as detailed information such as a full spec list, photographs, and other information were missing.

There was a little bit of information, however, including a note that the Voyage will offer a 6-inch display with 300 pixels per inch—the current version offers 212ppi. There will also be Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G versions as there are now.

The Japanese site (Google cache) also said the new Voyage will be the thinnest Kindle ever at 0.31 inches deep, which is slightly thinner than the current Paperwhite version's depth at 0.36 inches.
