From DailyTech: Google is opening up the floodgates today with news releases; one of which is a new mobile operating system and two of which are new mobile hardware products. Together, all three products represent Google’s vision for the future of mobile computing.
The first announcement involves an operating system that has already been discussed in detail: Android L. The operating system now has an official release number and name: Android 5.0 Lollipop. Lollipop brings with it a new “Material Design” language for the UI and accompanying apps along with 5,000 new APIs for developers. Lollipop even includes a new battery save mode which will supposedly boost battery life by 90 minutes when users find themselves close to running out of juice.

As for the hardware, there are two new Nexus devices to speak of today. The first is the Nexus 9, which as has been widely reported, is made by HTC. The tablet features a brushed aluminum body, an 8.9” 2048x1536 display (4:3), and an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
It will be priced at $399 for the 16GB model and $479 for the $32GB model. If you’d like an LTE modem on your Nexus 9, it will set you back $599 for a device equipped with 32GB of storage space.
The Nexus 6, on the other hand, is manufactured by Motorola (surprise, surprise). It features a 5.96” QHD display, 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor with 3GB of RAM, an aluminum frame, front-mounted stereo speakers, and a 13MP camera. Like the upcoming Droid Turbo, it will come with a Motorola Turbo Charger, which will provide 6 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes (the battery's capacity is listed at 3220 mAh). Wireless charging is also supported.
