Google's mobile search now recommends apps to install to find your answers

From PC World: Google wants to help you find even more apps to install, and it's turning to its legendary search engine to point you in the right direction.

When using Google search on mobile devices you'll now come across prompts to install apps that can help answer your search terms.

After you hit the Install button, you'll arrive inside the app at the same link you would have found on the web. For example, if you were looking for a specific restaurant, you can install OpenTable and launch it at the reservation page for that venue. Google lists other examples of this implementation, and how developers can get their app signed up, on its developers blog.

This isn't the only tinkering that Google is up to, however. Changes to its mobile search results page are also being tested, with Android Police spotting a more Material Design-friendly layout that rearranges some of the option menus. There's a bit less functionality up front, but it definitely has a cleaner look.
