Intel to Release Core i3, i5 ULV Processors in 2H

From Tom's Hardware: Many manufacturers have already announced or launched machines with Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, but it looks like Intel will soon introduce more Core i3 and i5 CPUs for PC makers to work with. This time, Intel is targeting slim or ultra thin laptops.

PC World cites an Intel spokesperson that Friday confirmed that the company would soon released new, low power processors under the Core i3 and Core i5 brands. Aimed at ultra portables and ultra slim laptops, the chips are said to be less powerful than the standard-voltage Core i3 and Core i5 laptop CPUs.

Stephen Smith, VP and director of PC client operations says the new processors will be made using the latest 32-nanometer manufacturing process and will integrate the CPU and graphics processor inside a single package, which could improve graphics performance while drawing less power. Expect to see laptops featuring these chips in the second half of this year.
