DXG Unveils $80 720p QuickShots Camcorder

From PC World: DXG has announced the DXG-5B6V, a $80 camcorder capable of shooting video at 720p resolution.

Equipped with a 5 megapixel 1/3.2-inch CMOS sensor, the DXG-5B6V can shoot 1280-by-720 video at 30 frames per second. Movies are saved to SD cards as H.264 AVI files, which can be imported into iMovie '09 and played in QuickTime. Bit rate information was not available.

The camcorder has a 4X digital zoom and digital image stabilization. Unlike many pocket camcorder that use a candybar-like design, the DXG-5B6V has a pistol-grip design, and the 2.4 LCD swings out from the camcorder's body.

The DXG-5B6V has a USB 2.0 port, as well as a HDMI port for connecting to a HDTV. Four AAA batteries are required.

The camcorder is available in six colors: Lavender, Mojave Gold, Ocean Blue, Red, Silver, and Yellow.
