Nvidia's GeForce GTX 570 Offers Explosive Performance and Quiet Gaming

From X-bit Labs: Nvidia Corp. has unveiled its second graphics board based on the GF110 graphics processing unit (GPU). The novelty offers performance levels similar to those of previous-generation GeForce GTX 480 flagship solution, but with much lower power consumption, quieter operation and at $349 price-point.

The GeForce GTX 570 graphics is powered by cut-down GF110 graphics chip with 480 stream processors, 60 texture units (with improved FP16 filtering performance), 40 render back ends, 15 geometry/tessellation engines, 320-bit memory controller, 640KB unified L2 cache and so on. The chip itself functions at 732MHz, while its compute stream cores operate at 1464MHz. Nvidia recommends its partners to clock 1.28GB of GDDR5 memory at 3008MHz.

The novelty supports all the modern technologies that the industry and Nvidia have to offer, including acceleration of physics effects using PhysX tech in select games, Nvidia 3D Vision stereoscopic technology, SLI multi-GPU technology and so on.

Just like the more advanced GeForce GTX 5-series brother, the model 570 sports advanced vapor-chamber-based cooling system that allows to cool down the GPU chip more efficiently and thus quietly than traditional coolers. Given that the GeForce GTX 570 itself is not a power hungry monster, with vapor-chamber-based cooler it can operate very silently.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 570-based graphics cards are available starting today from various add-in card partners, including ASL, Asustek Computer, Colorful, ECS, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, Jetway, Leadtek, MSI, Palit, Point of View, PNY, Sparkle, Zotac and others. The recommended price of the novelty is $349.
