Samsung Series 7 Gamer Laptop Breaks Cover

From DailyTech: Samsung has announced its latest gaming laptop for enthusiasts called the Series 7 Gamer. This is a big and full-featured gaming notebook with a 400-nit 17.3-inch, 1080p display, Dolby Home Theater surround sound, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M graphics card. The Series 7 Gamers makes use of Intel Core i7 "Ivy Bridge" processors, features 16GB of RAM and 8GB of flash memory on the motherboard for use as an ExpressCache.

“The Series 7 Gamer offers all the elements of a high-powered gaming machine with the convenience of the mode-changing dial, which enables you to switch off components in order to save power and have a quieter experience when you’re using it as a more traditional laptop,” said Todd Bouman, vice president of marketing at Samsung Enterprise Business Division.

“When the product is in gaming mode, it takes the experience to the next level by optimizing the graphics and sound, turning on a pulsating light in the speakers and highlighting the gaming keys in red, which truly allows users to immerse themselves in a game.”

The different modes include a Gaming mode that turns on up red backlight on the keyboard and around speakers that pulses to match game sounds. When in Gaming mode, the Windows key and touchpad are disabled. The General mode operation optimizes the keyboard for generic computing tasks and work processing and others.

The machine also has a Quiet mode the disables sounds and turns the fan off. Power saver mode optimizes battery life by turning off all non-critical components.
