Apple allows first porn app: "Sold Out" on first day, due to server overloading?

Update: Apple has officially banned the product. (See APH article here)

Here's some "WTF LOL" for you this morning.

A bit of background: Prior to this, Apple has been fairly conservative in approving official applications for Apple iPhone and iPod touch owners. Not anymore -- they are no longer doing the parenting work for you.

"Hottest Girls" is an app that Apple recently approved an update to that displays images of topless girls. This update was released today for iPhone OS 3.0 and has been dubbed 'sold out' numerous times. Although this app is rated "17+ rating for Frequent/Intense Sexual Content/Nudity" in the App Store, this application in question only contains photos of women in bikinis and not full nudity images.

Speculation of its overloading demand is confirmed by its developers. "The Hottest Girls app is temporarily sold out. The server usage is extremely high because of the popularity of this app. Thus, by not distributing the app, we can prevent our servers from crashing. Those who already have the app will still be able to use our app. To answer the question on everyone's mind: Yes, the topless images will still be there when it is sold again"

Interestingly: This app sells for $1.99 USD. And it's quickly moving up the popularity apps in the App Store too haha.
