Asus P7P55D-E Premium Review (Page 11 of 13)

Page 11 - Onboard Sound (RMAA 6.2.3) Analyzation

The Asus P7P55D-E Premium uses VIA's VT2020 10-Channel high definition audio codec. Marketed with Asus' Absolute Pitch BD192/24 and ENVY HD, it promises high fidelity output with Blu-ray decoding up to 24-bit/192kHz sampling rate. Its DTS Surround Sensation UltraPC technology is designed to enhance perceived sound performance. All in all, it seems to us that Asus has gotten much more serious when it comes to integrated audio performance on this motherboard -- historically speaking, Asus motherboards performed poorly on RMAA tests. Even the Asus Striker II NSE with its SupremeFX II sound module performed average at best. Since the onboard audio on Asus' P7P55D-E Premium supports 24-bit/192kHz, I ran RightMark Audio Analyzer to see how the system stacks up at its maximum sampling rate. Test details and result report is as posted:
