Like Futuremark's PCMark benchmarking suite, 3DMark 11 is yet another favorite among enthusiasts and reviewers alike. The latest iteration of 3DMark is available in three presets; separated into their respective categories of Entry, Performance, and Extreme. Entry is run at a resolution of 1024x600, Performance at 1280x720, and Extreme at 1920x1080. Being released in the same era as my laptop, Futuremark's latest program is more than capable of driving my non-gamer laptop's mobile graphics cards to its knees. and needless to say, it did. It takes advantage of DirectX 11 features such as tessellation, compute shaders, and multi-threading. With the Entry preset, the program is not very dependent on CPU and RAM, and becomes even less so as the resolution increases, as shown in our graphs above. Futuremark spent a lot of time reducing the variance of the benchmark results, and I think our numbers above reflects this reliably. All benchmarked RAM pairs are extremely close in tested performance.
