Unigine's Heaven 4.0 shows users what the company's game engine is capable of. Originally released in 2009, one of the biggest features of Unigine is its advanced OpenGL 4.0 and DirectX 11 renderer. This is an excellent benchmark, because there are over one hundred Unigine licenses used for development at press time. For our tests, we left it at its maximum settings of 8xAA and 16xAF, using tessellation as its only manipulated variable to measure the respective performance of the tested graphics cards. The average frame rate is shown in our charts above. Sheer clock speed did not do a whole lot in this benchmark. As it turned out, the pair of GTX 960 samples -- one overclocked and one and at stock -- remained remarkably close to the GTX 760 we tested. Meanwhile, the higher end Maxwell card, NVIDIA's own GTX 970, posted much higher numbers.
