About AIDA64 Engineer Edition

AIDA64 Engineer is a streamlined Windows diagnostic and benchmarking software for engineers. AIDA64 Engineer provides a wide range of features to assist in overclocking, hardware error diagnosis, stress testing, and sensor monitoring. It has unique capabilities to assess the performance of the processor, system memory, and disk drives. AIDA64 is compatible with all current 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2.

AIDA64 implements a set of 64-bit benchmarks to measure how fast the computer performs various data processing tasks and mathematical calculations. Memory and cache benchmarks are available to analyze system RAM bandwidth and latency. Processor benchmarks utilize MMX, SSE, XOP, FMA, AVX and AVX2 instructions, and scale up to 640 processor threads. For legacy processors all benchmarks are available in 32-bit version as well. AIDA64 Disk Benchmark determines the data transfer speed of hard disk drives, solid-state drives, optical drives, and flash memory based devices.

It should not be too much of a surprise by now that there is great variance in results between stock and overclocked settings, seeing the overclocking potential afforded by the Intel Core i7-4770K in conjunction with the Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87. As expected, overclocked settings will produce higher scores compared to stock settings on the same board with the same configuration of hardware. Performance increases here are approximately 32%, 33%, 31%, and 3.1%, respectively. Here, we see are more consistent performance increase between memory read, write, and copy, which is what I have expected. Up next are PCMark 8, 3DMark, PassMark PerformanceTest 8.0, SuperPI 1M, and Cinebench R15. Besides SuperPI, all benchmark software mentioned have been updated, so you may be interested in taking a look at those results compared to past reviews here at APH Networks.
