Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 2GB Review (Page 7 of 13)

Page 7 - Benchmark: Crysis 3

Crysis 3, as its name suggests, is the third installment in the Crysis game series. Based on the CryEngine 3 game engine, it was released on February 19, 2013. This is a DirectX 11 game utilizes some of the latest features of CryEngine 3, such as improved shadows and lighting, vegetation and fog effects, as well as dynamic mapping. Just like the original Crysis, Crysis 3 is particularly tough on PC hardware, especially when you want to have all the effects enabled. With everything maxed out at 1920x1200 and adjusting only AA and AF, none of our tested cards had particularly playable framerates that can be considered smooth. That said, the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 delivered noticeably better performance across the board in our custom benchmark run; delivering a whopping 40 to 47% higher framerate than our reference AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB video card. When it comes to the question, “But will it run Crysis?” None of them will, but the GTX 760 is definitely a lot closer.
