Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 1GB SOC Review (Page 4 of 13)

Page 4 - Benchmark: 3DMark 11

3DMark 11 is available in three presets; separated into their respective categories of Entry, Performance, and Extreme. Entry is run at a resolution of 1024x600, Performance at 1280x720, and Extreme at 1920x1080. Released on December 7, 2010, Futuremark's latest program is more than capable of driving current generation graphics cards to its knees. And it did. It takes advantage of new DirectX 11 features such as tessellation, compute shaders, and multi-threading. In the Entry test, the Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 1GB SOC is 17.1% faster than a stock 6850, and 3.4% faster than a stock 6870. As we scale up to the Performance preset, these values changes to 23.3% and 4.3%, respectively; while on Extreme, the gap increases to 30.4% and 5.3%, respectively.
