Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 1GB SOC Review (Page 5 of 13)

Page 5 - Benchmark: Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 runs off the Frostbite 1.5 engine, developed by EA Digital Illusions CE. It is a DirectX 11 game, released on March 2, 2010. We benchmarked our graphics cards on the Heart of Darkness level with everything maxed out at 1920x1200; the only manipulated variable is anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, as reflected on the labels in our graphs above. Since Bad Company 2 does not have built in benchmarking tools for custom timedemos, we ended up playing the same level manually in the same manner repeatedly to obtain our results. The factory overclocked Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 1GB gained an average of 2-3 frames per second over a stock 6870, with a good margin ahead of our reference 6850 video card.
