Noctua NH-L9x65 Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Looking at the previous success and reputation of its siblings, the NH-L9x65 is not about to taint that reputation. Noctua's claims are definitely supported by this CPU cooler's performance. It has taken the excellent qualities of the NH-L9 series, and further developed it to be implemented into the NH-L9x65. Not only is the build quality exceptional on the NH-L9x65, it is very consistent with other Noctua products we have reviewed here at APH Networks. Keeping with the colors that became popular with its brand, Noctua has once again designed something that is unique to look at, and performs just as distinctively. With the test results, the numbers show a decent comparison with other larger coolers, despite being a low profile heatsink only. When compared with the Intel stock cooler, while similar in size, the NH-L9x65 was far better. Although only one NF-A9x14 PWM fan can be attached to the heatsink, it effectively cools down the processor without too much sound. While the noise level does go up a bit when the system is under load, the noise itself is insignificant when looking at the cooling it provides. The installation process was very easy, as Noctua provides the SecuFirm2 mounting system, one of the most straightforward and well-made mounting mechanism on the market. All of these traits make up a great CPU fan for all users, especially those with a space constraint. If that is the case, then I would highly suggest the NH-L9x65. However, if you have the luxury of space in your system, then there are better options. At a price of around $60 USD at press time, the performance of the Noctua NH-L9x65 does not come cheap, but it will quietly do the job for you.
