If you have read our past reviews, whether we are testing hard drives, USB sticks, or solid state drives, you will know AIDA64 is one of our most used tests. AIDA64 Extreme Edition is a completely synthetic benchmark in that it does not necessarily completely reflect real life performance. However, what it does provide is an insight into the performance between different drives and different controllers. In the results we have obtained above, you can see the Barefoot 3 based OCZ ARC 100 240GB is not as close to its brothers, the Vector 150, or the Vertex 460. The ARC 100 pulled 525.3MB/s for linear read, 526.1MB/s for random read, and 476.6MB/s for buffered read. This puts the ARC100 more in line with the Vertex 4 256GB from 2012, which is not a bad place considering the price. As for average access time, the OCZ ARC 100's 0.04ms is in line with the other Barefoot 3 drives we have seen.
