About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Starting off today is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often quoted benchmark because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, and I've grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so SandForce based SSDs will perform very well here. Our curves above prove to be extremely interesting, because in some parts of the results curve, the OCZ Agility 3 240GB actually outperformed the OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 240GB slightly. I have rested the OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS 240GB with Firmware 2.08 to see if it is a software problem, but our end results did not change. The OCZ Agility 3 peaked out at 557.9MB/s read (The Vertex 3 Max IOPS 240GB's max is 559.2MB/s), and 523.8MB/s write (Compared to 520MB/s). How can this be? Well, let's head to our next set of benchmarks.
