Patriot Hellfire M.2 240GB Review (Page 11 of 11)

Page 11 - Conclusion

Being someone whose favorite topics are religion and politics, can you imagine how excited I was when I got a product called hellfire? As far as the latter is concerned, let me just say I am glad I live in Canada, haha. Jokes aside, if hell and hellfire is understood as something so dangerously powerful in Western culture, how powerful really is hellfire? Although I am in no position to give you a good answer in this area, especially since I am writing for a technology website, I can at least tell you how aptly named the Patriot Hellfire M.2 240GB is. Needless to say, Patriot's Hellfire is powerful. It is powerful not because it is the best performing drive we have tested here at APH Networks -- although it is certainly one of the best -- but rather, the package it offers. As far as benchmark results are concerned, the Patriot Hellfire M.2 240GB is a real winner when it comes to linear read and write tests. However, when we fired up more intense workloads, the Hellfire revealed a bit of its economical nature compared to the Toshiba OCZ RD400, which brings us to the topic of pricing. For only $130 at press time, you can get a ticket to experience the power of the NVMe world without breaking the bank. The Hellfire is certainly not a value SSD by any means, but it delivers incredible performance for what you pay for, considering the Toshiba OCZ RD400 256GB is close to $170 at press time. Sure, you will only get a three-year warranty and 115TB write endurance, but for most users, these factors should not be deal breakers. And at the end of the day, no matter what Revelation 20:10 says about hellfire, the good news really lies in John 3:16. For the Patriot Hellfire M.2 240GB, the good news lies in its performance with respect to its price tag.

Patriot provided this product to APH Networks for the purpose of evaluation.
