Like Futuremark's PCMark 8 benchmarking suite, 3DMark is yet another favorite among enthusiasts and reviewers alike. In fact, it has been part of the APH Networks' battery of standard benchmarks since the very beginning. The latest iteration of 3DMark is available in four presets. This includes Fire Strike Extreme, Sky Diver, Cloud Gate, and Ice Storm Extreme; each in decreasing order of GPU dependency. To give our test platform a little more comprehensive results, I enabled the Extreme option in our tests, where possible. As you can see in our graphs above, the DDR4-3000 Patriot Viper Elite PC4-24000 2x8GB remained generally consistent with the pack. Bandwidth played a small role here, and it was interesting how the Viper Elite, despite having the highest bandwidth, won only one test, and came up a hair behind everyone else in the rest.
