Right off the bat, the Patriot Extreme Performance PC3-14400 RAM came in second by a very small margin -- all are within a 0.01% margin for a statistical tie. The reason behind this is because the Super Talent Project X RAM, while utilizing the same family of memory ICs (Micron D9GTR), operates at a higher voltage by default -- with lower defined latencies at 7-6-6-18 1.8V (7-7-7-18 @ DDR3-1800 2.0V). The Micron D9GTS based Patriot RAM in this review operates at 7-7-7-18 1.9V (8-8-8-18 @ DDR3-1800 2.0V). Generally speaking, it should match the performance of the Project X once we bump the voltage up a bit, and tuning the latencies in the BIOS.
