About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

ATTO is one of my favorite benchmarks for quite a while. Ever since we have started using it in my network attached storage reviews last year, it has been integral to our battery of storage performance evaluations here at APH Networks -- mainly due to its accuracy, and thorough testing in accordance to varying transfer sizes. As you can see on our graphs above, its read performance greatly exceeds its write performance; peaking at 201.8MB/s and 81.2MB/s, respectively. However, we cannot negate the shape of the curves. The Patriot Supersonic Magnum 64GB seems to perform quite terribly with anything equal to or less than 32KB in the write category; leaving it behind the OCZ Rally2 Turbo until the surge occurs at 64KB. On the other hand, the read curve fares very well, but seems to have a few unexplainable dips at 4096KB, and between 64KB and 1024KB. These results are repeatable in subsequent runs.
