About AIDA64 Engineer

AIDA64 Engineer has a hardware detection engine unrivaled in its class. It provides detailed information about installed software and offers diagnostic functions and support for overclocking. As it is monitoring sensors in real time, it can gather accurate voltage, temperature and fan speed readings, while its diagnostic functions help detect and prevent hardware issues. It also offers a couple of benchmarks for measuring the performance of individual hardware components or the whole system. It is compatible with all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows editions, including Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016.

As with all our portable disk reviews, I would just like to start off by presenting our AIDA64 test results. AIDA64 results always provide interesting insight to the performance of USB 3.0 portable hard drives. Delivering up to 103.0MB/s sequential read, 75.5MB/s random read, and 352.4MB/s buffered read, we are coming in relatively on the lower end of things -- except for buffered read -- for an external HDD. Compared to the rest of the competition, it is not too far off from the average. Its 17.36ms random access time is about what you can want from a traditional mechanical disk as well. So far, for 2TB of USB 3.0 storage, I could say I have expected more, but not by much.
