Ever get that pesky Windows Update "Restart Now" prompt in Windows XP? Sure you have, and being a Windows user myself, I find that extremely annoying. Not only does it pop up every few minutes to ask you to restart your computer; when you are running a full screen application such as a game, that could be extremely frustrating. To be honest, hitting "Restart Later" means I really want to restart later, at my time. What if you don't want to restart now? Let's get rid of that annoying notification until your session ends. (Note: It will still appear next time you install an update that requires restart, but you can always pull the same trick on it again.)

The trick: Click Start, and then Run. Enter net stop wuauserv in the box. A command window will execute and closes when the service is stopped. System tray icon and notifications will all be gone for good until the next update. Restart at your own pleasure!
