Have you watched a video, in, say, Windows Media Player, and this funny part comes up, you press the PrtScr button on your keyboard to take a screenshot. You the paste it into your favourite graphics application, eg. Paint, then you see a Windows Media Player window and only black where your video is supposed to be?

In this really simple guide you will learn how to take a screenshot of the video without third party applications.

1. First, you got to bypass your video card, go right-click the Desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshooting. Drag the slider of "Hardware Acceleration" all the way to the left where it says "None". Press OK.

2. Now back into the program where you are watching the video, press the PrtScr button on your keyboard to take a full screen screenshot or select the program where you are watching the video and press ALT+PrtScr (To take a screenshot of the active window only)

3. Open your favourite graphics editor and press CTRL+V or Edit > Paste. I would recommend saving your screenshot at this point just in case something messes up in the next step.

4. Go back to the place where you changed the "Hardware Acceleration" to "None", this time drag it all the way back to the right where it says "Full". Press OK to revert back to your original settings.
