  1. They definitely have different preset settings. The Kanto's seem much more bass heavy even though I assume the Audioengine's are capable of just as much if not more bass
  2. Is there a way to adjust the EQ on the Audioengine's? It looks like no but just thought I'd double check here to be certain
  3. Finally ready. Here's the picture of them side by side
  4. Update. The Kanto's arrived defective unfortunately and didn't turn on so I have to bring them in to get a replacement pair. I'm breaking in the Audioengine's though and they sound awesome.
  5. haha okay I figured, just thought I'd make sure
  6. Okay awesome thanks I'll do that. Should I run them for 10-15 hours straight or split it up into multiple sessions (i.e. 3 sets of 5)? Or does it not matter at all?
  7. Was on vacation for a while so just ordered the speakers yesterday. I should have them by tomorrow. Any advice on how to test them? In the past I've just had the speakers side by side and listened to them one by one with different genres of music that I like. I'll try to get a friend to help me out with the switching so I can have my eyes closed and not know which speaker is which to avoid bias. Any other tips?
  8. It's honestly very possible, in addition to the speakers that I'm replacing (Genius SP-HF1800A), I also have a couple Eagle Tech 2.1 sets that I'm quite positive will get blown out of the water by the new ones so it will be tempting to upgrade those too.
  9. I got to listen to the HD6's in a store (B&H) yesterday and really liked them. They also had the Kanko YU6 right next to it so I listened to those for a bit too and they were also excellent, but in a different way. Makes my decision a bit harder. I think I have to listen more so I'm going to buy both the HD6's and the YU6's, listen for a couple weeks then return the one I don't like as much. Or if I only like the HD6's slightly more I may go with the YU6's because of the $300 difference.
  10. I'll have to see how they sound for a while and depending on that I'll consider whether or not I should get a sub. How necessary do you guys think it is to pair the HD6's with a sub?
  11. Cool thanks guys, I was hoping people would say that
  12. Looking to buy a pair of powered bookshelf speakers and was hoping to get some opinions/advice. These speakers would be used primarily for listening to music and I’m happy to shell out a lot of cash if it’ll be worth it although my absolute maximum is probably around $1000. Ideally I’d spend around $400 - $700. In doing research I’ve come across a few pairs that look pretty good, one of which I’ve listened to before and really like the sound of (Edifier S2000 Pro). I’ll list the models below, any opinions on which are better of these would be great and I know the prices differ so that has to be factored in of course. The audio engines are $700 but I’ve heard excellent things so maybe it’s worth it? Also if there are other models that I haven’t listed that you think would be contenders, that works too.
