gummyz 116 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 So all went okay, and you're back at your old position? Nice one on the letter This is another reason why you need to try and get yourself out of there.

chconline 1,337 Report post Posted October 7, 2008 How did you end up working at Wal-Mart? That has nothing to do with your degree and anyone not graduated from HS can work there.
+Mindovermaster 3,354 Report post Posted October 7, 2008 It's the only damn job I could get. I quit my previous job, where I was working at a Pizza place, on dishes 99.9% of the time, and get sent home early 75% of the time. Actually, they started to cut my hours, until I had 0 hrs a week, then I just never came back. For the count, that restaurant is now dead. I applied at many places, only Wal-Mart would take me in. Out of like, 50 places I applied.

Industry secret: restaurant wages may seem "uncompetitive" at $12/hour, but kitchen people many busy places make in excess of an additional 20% in cash tips. +Mindovermaster 3,354 Report post Posted October 7, 2008 If you are a waiter, yes. Otherwise, you don't get tips.
+ty8131990 89 Report post Posted October 8, 2008 (edited) If you are a waiter, yes. Otherwise, you don't get tips. Well the place(s) you looked at isn't a very generous place -- I make in excess of $10 tips for a 5-hour dishwashing/prep shift, while servers can make over 900% in tips of that in the same night. +Mindovermaster 3,354 Report post Posted October 8, 2008 I guess not, but I do not necisarily want to work in a restaurant again. I had a bad experience with that..
