medevacvii's Canon 5D Mark IV

Recommended Posts

Haven't got the time to visit some caves or basins just yet, so I stayed in town. But I did manage to visit our local YYC bird sanctuary. Here's a shot with my 24-105mm f/4L lens @ maximum 105mm length, with a bit of cropping.

Not the greatest, but at least some progress at taking more action-based photos. This little guy (a black-capped chickadee) was really quick and agile, so it took a lot of patience to capture it in this position with the current lens I had.

Let me know what you guys think!

may need to increase the exposure

Thanks.

Yes, I need to do that. I thought I had enough exposure.

Nice shot - time to get the 200mm lens.

Thanks. I should have used my 75-300mm. Here's a different shot though of the European Starling using my telephoto, as close as I could get.

Sigma came out with a new sports 60-600mm lens (found here), so I'm planning to use it once it's released. I've already pre-ordered it from my local camera store.

Nice shot!

I wouldn't recommend something with such a big zoom range. There's going to be serious barrel distortion on one end and pincushion on the other. Stick with 70-200 f/2.8L for birdwatching.

Agreed - Canon OEM L series FTW!

You'll need telephoto zoom lens for birdwatching. The 70-200 is a photographer's favorite. :)

Or a fixed 300mm f/4L LOL

As much as Canon is lagging behind for the trend of photography, I just love the selection of lenses.
