2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia

Recommended Posts

Had a chance to drive the Giulia the other day.

Having driven all the other cars in its class (C-class, 3-series, etc) I have to say this is by far the most fun to drive car. It feels incredibly light behind the wheel, the steering feedback is excellent and the suspension is perfectly tuned. The Ferrari-inspired start button on the wheel and extended paddle shifters are an added bonus. The driving dynamics are two classes ahead of the 3-series and at least one above even the C43; unfortunately, there's nothing between the base 280hp model and the 505hp Quadrifoglio.

In terms of interior, I still think the C-class is way better; there were some funky design choices like the USB port in the center console. Of course, given the reliability record, I wouldn't get this car unless it's a 2-year lease. For a very similar price, I think the AMG C43 is a better buy despite feeling way heavier and has a rock hard suspension. It's almost as fun to drive, way more reliable, and has 100 more horsepower.

When buying a new car Alfa Romeo hasn't even crossed my mind but it reminds me of the old Top Gear episodes. I agree on its lack of reliability, it usually turns out to be ****.

wonder how ****ty the reliability is if you start in calgary

lease it for 2 years and give it back

c43 has much more performance and reliability for a little less "fun to drive" considering alfas spend 50% of the time in the shop

Haha, read the Car and Driver article on the Quadrifoglio. However, a lot of 2019 owners are reporting much better reliability. I personally wouldn't risk it though.

I'm actually looking to Lease one for 24 months - Old Man Car Crisis?

What other cars do you own now? I remember you had a Honda Accord, Chevy Camaro and E-class.

Well I think a lot of young guys are buying (leasing) this car haha. Corvette is the real mid-life crisis car.

I'm not a fan of the front end design either, but I guess it's tradition. Much prefer the look of the C-class.

I like the Looks. Leased a Quadrifoglio in Rosso Competizione Tri-Coat.

Congratulations that's a sharp looking color!
