FSP Hydro PTM+ 850W by Jonathan Kwan

Haha yeah, I wonder why they call everything Hydro when it has nothing to do with water cooling. We're not allowed to show the water block though.

That's a sick PSU. What do you mean not allowed to show the water block?

Yeah, the water cooling components cost more. I sort of wonder why they made a 850W version. Even if you water cool it to 1000W, it's still a 1000W PSU. If it's 1500W out of the box and you can boost it to 1800W, then we're talking. Not that most circuits in Canada or US supports that much wattage, of course.

Great review chc but seems to be a very niche product. If you want semi-passive a lot of PSUs have it and doesn't need water cooling.

Yeah, it certainly is a niche product. It's unlikely this design will become mainstream, but it's a cool concept to show it could be done.

This is the only Photo I see:

What's stopping someone from Buying the product and just taking it Apart to re-engineer?

Nothing really. I guess they can sell another $400 PSU to a competitor?

In that photo its pretty clear how the water block worked - they even banned another website from showing the whole disassembly.

I'm quite surprised about this, considering they were quite clear with the rules: No pictures of the water block, but everything else is OK.
