Nokia to Launch 4.7-Inch Lumia 625

From DailyTech: Nokia is on the verge of releasing another Lumia, but this time, it'll be a low-end model with the largest screen the company has unveiled yet.

Nokia will launch the Lumia 625 in the coming weeks, which is an effort to offer more affordable Windows Phones. The new phone will feature a 4.7-inch screen, which will make it one of the larger Lumia's to date.

The Lumia 625 will also have a a dual-core 1.2GHz S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera and a 800 x 480 (WVGA) resolution.

It's expected to launch at about $325 USD in a variety colors. However, a solid release date for the U.S. hasn't been announced yet.

It's important for Nokia to release less-expensive models of its Lumia line so that it can reach many different people with different price points.

A lot of the Lumia phones, such as the recently-announced Lumia 1020, are high-end devices that pack a ton of features for a steeper price. For instance, the 1020 -- which will have features like a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core, 2GB DRAM, LTE, NFC and a whopping second generation 41 MP, 1/1.5" sensor with 1.1 micron backside illuminated (BSI) pixels -- will run about $602 USD.
